The Vintage Club offers residents championship courses designed by Tom Fazio and a full-service golf center; a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa; hard and clay tennis courts and active tennis programs; 25-yard swim complex with private and social decks; and sport courts available for ball sports and other activities. There are a number of national, state, and local parks in the area. The Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument reaches an elevation of more than 10,000 feet, and provides the picture-perfect backdrop to the Coachella Valley. In addition to public schools, there are abundant private school choices, including Christian School of the Desert, Desert Christian High School, Desert Torah Academy, Education Station, Hope Lutheran School, Jewish Community School of the Desert, Marywood-Palm Valley School, Montessori School of The Desert, Montessori School of the Valley, Palm Desert Community Presbyterian, Rancho Mirage Children’s School, Sacred Heart School, St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, Temple Sinai Tikvah Preschool, The Learning Tree, and Xavier College Preparatory High School. Area colleges and universities are College of the Desert, Chapman University, California State University-San Bernardino, and University of California-Riverside.
Indian Wells is serviced by top-ranking medical facilities, including Desert Regional Medical Center and John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. SunLine Transit Agency and Indian Wells Shuttle offer transportation. Palm Springs International Airport is a short drive away. Highways 111, 74 are the city’s major corridors, and Interstate 10 runs from to Los Angeles.
